The Ramakrishna Vedanta Society of the Philippines celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda from 12 to 15 September 2013 with various activities and programs.

Among the participants were H. E. Fidel V.Ramos, former President of the Philippines, H. E. Amit Dasgupta, Ambassador of India, Swami Medhasananda, President of the Vedanta Society of Japan, Swami Bodhasarananda, former President of Advaita Ashram, Mayavati, India.

Among the programs held at Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Makati, there was "Arpana", "An Offering" Indian classical dances to pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda, performed by students of Mrs. Shanti Sreedhar from the UP Filipinia Dance Company and Natya Mandala.

At the book fair held of SMX, our Society distributed for free several hundred books on and by Swami Vivekananda.

At our seat we held a distribution of relief goods in the name of Swami Vivekananda and by the hands of Swamis Medhasananda and Bodhasarananda in favor of the indigent residents of Brgy. Horseshoe.

The celebrations were concluded on 15 September 2013 with a performance of three songs from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna written by Filipino composer Angel Matias Peña and rendered by a trio led by guitarist Edgardo de Dios, baritone John Pitas and viola Joy Allan dela Cruz, followed by an inspirational talk by Swami Bodhasarananda on the theme "How can one combine one's secular life with spiritual life?"
